     The Louisville Dulcimer Society was formed in 1978 by a group of dulcimer students who wanted to continue and extend their music learning and fellowship.

     The society averages over one hundred and ninety familes which include professional and amateur musicians, beginning musicians, returning musicians, returning musicians and non-musicians. All acoustic instruments are welcome.

     General meetings include a short business meeting, refreshments, jam sessions, and may include concerts and workshops by visiting performers or LDS members. The general meeting takes place the fourth Sunday of each month at 4PM. The location varies and is announced in the monthly newsletter. Visitors are welcome.

     Regular practices and jam sessions are held every Tuesday, 7:30 PM, in the lower level of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 4700 Lowe Road. Visitors are welcome.

     To become a member of the Louisville Dulcimer Society, complete the form, detach, and return it with a check for $20, to the post office address given at the top of the page. If you would like the LDS music and CD mailed to you, add an extra $5 to cover postage.

     You do not need to play an instrument to join. All memberships are family memberships.

     As a member, you are entitled to:

         A monthly newsletter containing news and dulcimer music

         A collection of many of our most played songs; Our LDS CD

         One official LDS name tag per membership (upon request)

         Learning, performing, and new friendship opportunities

         Free admission to special LDS events

     Additional name badges and music books for other family members may be purchased for a small fee.
